A film made by a million people.
One YouTube channel. Every milestone unlocks a new chapter, made only from clips sent in by subscribers. You film it. You pick what comes next. Your channel is in the credits.
1,000 windows. One lights up for every 1,000 subscribers. The faint flickers are only a preview. When the whole wall is lit, the film is finished.
Chapter 1: the view from your window
Go to a window you look out of every day. Film what you see for ten seconds. That is the whole task.
A street in Lagos, a yard in Ohio, a wall two metres away, snow, laundry, a parking lot. Ordinary is exactly what we want.
The rules
- 10 to 15 seconds, one continuous shot.
- Hold the phone sideways (landscape) and keep it still.
- Real sound only. No music, no voice-over.
- No recognisable faces of other people, no house numbers or licence plates in close-up.
- Filmed by you, not generated, not taken from the internet.
- You are 18 or older.
Send your clip
Step 1 of 3: post your code
Post this code as a comment under the first video on the channel. It proves the clip comes from a real viewer, and it is how we match the clip to your YouTube channel.
The code is kept in this browser, so you see the same one when you come back.
Step 3 of 3: upload your clip
Code , channel . These are filled in for you on the upload page. You sign in with the Google account you use on YouTube and add the file.
Every accepted clip is published here with your channel name. A selection goes into the chapter film and the daily Shorts.

Every country that reaches 30 accepted clips gets a film of its own.
Every milestone, a new chapter
When the channel reaches a milestone, submissions for the open chapter close, the chapter film is edited and released together with a new cut of the whole film so far, and the next chapter opens with a task chosen by subscribers.
After 10,000: a new chapter every 10,000 subscribers, all the way to one million.

Questions
Will my clip be in the film?
Every accepted clip is published on this site with your channel name. The chapter film and the daily Shorts use a selection, chosen for variety, so we cannot promise a place in the film itself.
How am I credited?
By your YouTube channel name, with a link to your channel, on this site and in the description of the film. No real name is needed, and the only location we ask for is your country, for the map.
Who owns my clip?
You do. By sending it you give this project a free, non-exclusive permission to edit it and publish it in the film, in Shorts and on this site. You can keep using it anywhere you like.
Do I get paid?
No. Nobody is paid for clips and it costs nothing to take part.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. Write to us and we remove your clip from this site and from our Shorts, and leave it out of every future edit. A chapter that is already published may take longer to replace.
What do you do with my data?
The form collects your clip, your channel name, your country, your code and the email of the Google account you upload with. We use them only to run this project and to credit you. We do not sell or share them. Write to us to see or delete what we hold.
Why do I need a code?
YouTube does not let anyone see who subscribes to a channel. A comment with your code, posted from your channel, is the simplest proof that the clip comes from a real viewer and not from a bot.
Is anything on the channel made with AI?
The clips are not. We reject generated footage. The editing is done by a small team with the help of software.
